YEARS SINCE ARRIVAL: 3 years NOTEWORTHY CR:
Sora; possibly the first of the earliest two (it's a toss-up between him and Ko) that Nico dared to call a friend. While it took him a while to fully open up, he's glad he gave it a chance. Sora gives him... cautious hope that making friends is worth it. Yes... people will continue to die, but supporting those left means never having to suffer grief alone. And he's developing a mindset similar to what he has in canon, where he'd be that person for someone who feels they're being forgotten.
Kosuke; is up there with Sora, basically! Kosuke actually being Apollo was wild to learn, but he rolled with it. Shyly asked some questions, eventually, about what being a god is like. Maybe fanboyed a tiny bit... but nobody gets to know about that part, thanks. Ko is someone else Nico will have been willing to open up to, little by little.
Akira; is someone problematic for Nico, but only in the sense that he's roughly where Sora sits in "cute... and nice... and why are people attractive?" Before Will came along, Akira was probably edging closest to being someone Nico would consider dating. Maybe. He's trying not to think about that, nowadays.
Seuyal; is really nice, and he's someone Nico's been asking lots of questions, whenever he has a chance. What's it like being a god? Does it ever feel stressful? Does he regret becoming the one here? That sort of stuff. He does feel like it's kind of unfair that all the responsibility is falling onto the shoulders of those two, but... he doesn't want to just come out and say that. Yet. He'll... probably just come out and say that, lbr.
Mitsuri; he's really flattered to be her FR partner, and she's managed to have him secretly calling her big sis in his own head. He'll likely be slipping up, soon... and just saying it out loud. It was difficult to reach even this point, and he felt some guilt because of feelings over Bianca... but now he's kind of just happy to have her, as well. He thinks... his sister would just be happy for him.
Shido; the partner for his own FR... and someone he hasn't processed losing yet. He will no doubt struggle to get past losing him, and he isn't going to want to have anyone as an FR partner (for his own attacks) anytime soon.
Will; last but so far from least... this is the most complicated one for Nico! For a while, he was juggling feelings of relief, guilt, and more relief. It's simply... bittersweet, having Will. A happier, warmer, softer, and (maybe?) slightly less traumatized Will. A Will who's had a loving parent? A Will who's had happier experiences with friends? It's... kind of unreal, and it makes him as happy as it does angry. And guiltier, still... He reminds himself that it's wonderful that there's a Will who's lived a better life. He reminds himself that he'll find a way to free the ones from home. It just... hurts, still, sometimes, seeing such a warm smile. One he kind of hates himself for wanting to kiss.
